“My knees sank in the mud as the wind roared against me. Rain fell like a swarm of bees, and I saw a monstrous wave of water racing towards me. It consumed me, devoured me, and then it passed. The tempest was gone, the air was dry. Then, the weight of a sword filled my hand, unfamiliar yet strangely comforting. A gift from the Father—and a mission. I still hold that sword. It is my music and my vision, my voice and my strength. It calls me by a different name, driving me ever onward.”
Fragile Son is Nate Sahr, wielding his music and driven by this vivid image of purpose. After two years studying music production at Ohio University, Nate Sahr dedicated his entire summer to creating music under the name Fragile Son. With no funds and no following, he produced his first album, self-titled Fragile Son, from his home studio in his parent’s basement. Nate wrote, played, and mixed everything on this album, pouring himself out to bring it to life. For Nate, music is more than a product to sell to consumers or a hobby to pass the time. It is a precious glimpse into the hidden soul and an exploration of what it means to be human—to hope, to hurt, to love and be loved. Nate created Fragile Son to give others an open gateway to his soul, so they might find comfort in a shared humanity. For we are all sons and daughters, we are all fragile, and we are all human.
